SEGA Announces Petroglyph Partnership News

SEGA Europe has today announced a new partnership with Petroglyph, developers of the forthcoming Star Wars RTS, Empire at War. Described as a Modern Military/Sci-Fi themed title, details on the as yet untitled RTS franchise will be released by both companies at a later date.

â??Coincidentally, this deal marks the ten year anniversary of the blockbuster RTS series which most of the Petroglyph team worked on during our time at Westwood Studios,â? said Michael Legg, President of Petroglyph. â??We are extremely excited about our partnership with SEGA, as it will enable us to advance the RTS genre while creating fun and exciting experiences for gamers worldwide.â?

The news is the latest development in SEGAâ??s strategy to increase appeal in the Western market, and follows deals with Silicon Knights, Secret Level, Monolith Productions, Pseudo Interactive, and the acquisition of The Creative Assembly.
