"Informed source" points to a desert setting for Naughty Dog's next instalment in the Uncharted series...
Naughty Dog's next outing in its critically lauded Uncharted series may be taking on a desert setting and could even be announced before Christmas if the latest round of speculation is to be believed.
This is according to an "informed" Kotaku source, who stipulates that the reveal will take place on or around the Spike VGAs, which will be held on December 11th.
As the article shrewdly points out, the story behind Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark starts in the Peruvian jungle and then travels to Nepal, before moving on to Cairo.
Given the obvious influences of Indiana Jones on Uncharted's Nathan Drake, not to mention the South American jungle and Himalayan settings of Uncharted 1 & 2, this would appear to be a decent shout. Still, we've heard more convincing conspiracy theories to be honest.

simply can not wait for this. uncharted and then uncharted 2 are my favourite games i've ever played. and i don't say that lightly, i've been playing games since before i got my spectrum all those years ago! 8-)

It has the the potential to be the best game this generation but its gonna have alot of competition for game of the year in 2011. me3, tes5,lbp2, and infamous 2, I think are very strong competitors for goty.
