Sony lifts the lid on the next Uncharted instalment for the PS3, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves...

Sony and developer Naughty Dog have revealed the next instalment of Nathan Drake's ongoing heroic journey in the pursuit of ancient artefacts, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

While the first game followed Nathan Drake's journey to uncover the lost city of El Dorado from the diaries of Sir. Francis Drake, this sequel is set to follow in the footsteps of another legendary explorer Marco Polo.

It looks like the setting for the game will be markedly different from the jungle environments of Drake's Fortune as well, with the first teaser trailer showing Drake discovering an artefact through a snow covered landscape being battered by a blizzard.

Game Informer is also touting a new free climbing mechanic as well as the addition of some stealth gameplay to boot.

More will be revealed at the 2008 Video Game Awards this December 14th.

Anyone who's downloaded and played in the multiplayer DEMO, not "beta", knows it works perfectly. I've heard nothing but praise for the single player campaign as well. Excellent reviews all around.

I'd rather they continued to focus on a strong single-player experience, but as long as they create that then I'm not going to turn down co-op.

Despite my initial scepticism over this news, I think multiplayer could work.  I'm more interested in the co-op, but deathmatches could be fun, so long as in doing this the single-player mode does not suffer.

I'll probably be buying inFamous anyway, so I will be interested in checking this out.
