Jean-Marcel Nicolai becomes DIS' Senior VP of Global Production after seven years at Atari...

Seven years behind the helm of technology development and external product development at the ailing US Atari of Infrogrames doesn't seem to have dented Jean-Marcel Nicolai's career path, as he's today been unveiled as Senior Vice President of Global Production at Disney Interactive Studios.

Not only charged with overseeing the development of titles across DIS' internal studios, Nicolai will also work with external studios and future studio expansion.

"Jean-Marcel joins us at an exciting time as we continue to showcase our commitment to quality and we build our already robust portfolio of global development teams and internal studios," said Graham Hopper, executive vice president and general manager, Disney Interactive Studios. "Jean-Marcel's deep experience in the video game and technology sectors makes him a strong leader and an ideal addition to our executive team."

Hopefully, Nicolai will experience greater success at Disney Interactive Studio - after all, Atari US has certainly suffered in recent years. In December, the publisher received a warning that it's at risk from losing its NASDAQ status, and confirmed that it was pulling out of videogame production all together, thanks to a licensing agreement with Infogrames.

I thought this was one of the worst games I ahve ever had the misfortune of playing. True the graphics are good and nice, but beyond that the game is really iritating. I found myself shooting my guns in random directions in the slim hope and possibility of hitting what ever dinosaur weas near by. The graphics are lush, but there is no feature to be able to change the brightness of the game whatsoever, leaving half of the levels unplayable on an lcd tv. :( its a shame really as I was a huge fan of the TOO-ROCK games on N64.
