Miyamoto claims that new Mario and Zelda titles are on the way, and they’ll be a bit different to the ones we’ve seen…

In a recent interview Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed that new Mario and Zelda titles are in development for the GameCube. Interestingly, he went onto claim that these will both be different to the games currently in development (Super Mario Sunshine & Zelda), and would give new direction rather then just being based on their respective N64 titles.

The god-like figure then went onto claim that his team are well on schedule with Zelda for the GameCube, hoping to release the game before Christmas in Japan and early 2003 in other territories.
