Activision moves the anticipated release window of True Crime: Hong Kong from 2010 to 2011...

Following a tumultuous week for Activision's True Crime: Hong Kong project, the publisher has now decided to delay the game's release from 2010 into 2011.

This delay comes via Activision's financial report for the second quarter of 2010, where the company stated that True Crime: Hong Kong is being delayed, "to give the development team more time to deliver the high-quality entertainment experience they envision for the game".

Earlier this week, Gamasutra published an article alleging that True Crime: Hong Kong started off life at developer Treyarch as a game called Black Lotus, which starred a female protagonist modelled on Lucy Liu.

Sources indicate that Activision gave specific instruction to "lose the chick" because female characters don't sell, and subsequently moved development of the project to United Front where Black Lotus has been resurrected as True Crime: Hong Kong.
