Transport Giant Review

Strange that I have a kind of deju vu feeling about this game before I even loaded it in. The name implies Transport Tycoon but in a bigger form and I was not far wrong.

Forget fancy graphics, donâ??t be concerned about the wow factor or anything innovative but think strategy, building and becoming the ultimate creator.

Transport Giant is an amalgam of Sim City and Transport Tycoon and stretches over a period of 200 years. 200 years spans a lot of industrial changes as well as transport and structural deviations. Instantly, you are immersed within a â??giantâ?? emerging and evolving world from the moment you start and you are the mastermind for the future. There are oodles of gameplay options and challenges and it is hard to know where to begin. Expanding and building are but two of your requirements for success. With onscreen stats and the embryonic world keeping tabs on your competitors (if selected), along with your money and resources you have an open world at your fingertips. Looking a few steps ahead ensures you are totally focused and there is a never a momentâ??s free time left to wander.

The landscapes, the screen update of both stats and the evolution of your constantly changing world could turn into a logistic nightmare with all that you have on offer but the regimented interface and intuitive nature of the game really keeps the player in the right position and you also never feel restricted. This in itself must be commended. Too many games offer everything and you are totally confused! Thereâ??s plausibility to everything you do!

Far from this game being a new helping of an old game, it an old game but with a shot of adrenaline to give it added appeal. Yes, tycoon fans will have an instant affinity with its ideologies and new strat fans will immediately take to this. Yes, it galls us to say it but it does have a number of wow factors that take you by surprise. Use the zoom function and you will see some landscapes in full eye candy glory and the sheer amount of data being shifted around is amazing. Transport, cities, industries, are all part of the industrial revolution that you can manage.

Nothing stunning, some might say, expect for a very solid and deeply challenging game� Nuff said��.
