The robots in disguise set for a July 2007 release to coincide with the live-action movie...
Following the reacquisition of the Transformers videogames license from Infogrames/Atari last year, Hasbro has announced that it's given the rights to develop new titles based on the robots in disguise to Activision. Confirming the deal, both parties were excited about the prospect of working together:
"We are thrilled to work with Activision to bring the widely popular TRANSFORMERS brand to the world of digital entertainment and introduce millions of consumers to our best-known TRANSFORMER and biggest hero of all time-OPTIMUS PRIME," said Jane Ritson-Parsons, president of the Hasbro Properties Group (HPG). "As the leading developer of video games, Activision shares our passion and excitement for the TRANSFORMERS story line. We know this world-class and creative team will bring TRANSFORMERS to life in powerful and exciting ways as we immerse a broad audience in this pop-culture phenomenon."
"TRANSFORMERS has all of the elements necessary to translate incredibly well into video games," said Mike Griffith, president and CEO, Activision Publishing, Inc. "We look forward to bringing the TRANSFORMERS robots to life with the latest interactive technology and graphics."
The first title is set to be released in July 2007 to coincide with the Fourth of July weekend launch of the live-action movie, which is currently in pre-production with Michael Bay (The Rock, The Island) at the helm.
We'll have more news shortly...

I think this game other than the very annoying camera is a 7 out of 10 game, the graphics are good you can run around and destroy everything so if your thinkin about buyin this game follow my advice and do it (p.s. i got it for the wii version so other versions may suck)

im a transformers fan, and i have to say the games graphics suck espesiallly on the ps2 version. its like they have lego faces, no detail. its a rushed game. and to be honest, ATARI's, TRANSFORMERS is a better choice, graphic wise and story line, maybe you cant be the decepticons but at least its more fun than this dissapointing transformers movie adaption of a game. because of the lack of graphic quality, the wrong choice for megatrons voice and starscreams level is restricted to a crappy airforce base. id give this 2/10. ATARI's version of transformers 9/10

This game is baaaaaad - do not even contemplate shelling out even £20 for it, might as well track down the Atari game in a bargain bin somewhere.

I played the game and its pretty fun. The camera sucks though...but after a day of playing it I mastered the "lock on" option that becomes very usefull later on in the game. This is a fun game, and is high action just like the movie.
