Activision asks: How much can we charge for a skateboard that doesn't actually get you anywhere...

For most people skateboarding is a relatively cheap pastime; sure there are trucks and bearings to occasionally replace, but once you've forked out for the basics you're good to go - a well looked after skateboard can last you for years.

However it seems that Activision doesn't necessarily believe so, with a GameStop listing suggesting that all of those motion sensors and accelerometers are going to cost a small fortune.

Although, by no means official the listing suggests we'll have to pay $119.99 for the skateboard peripheral and game.  Of course that's the US price, so it probably means we'll have to pay considerably more for it in the UK.  We'll agree that the peripheral features some pretty impressive technology, but it's still an expensive attempt to emulate a few nuts and bolts.

We're just hoping that peripheral-crazy Activision doesn't come up with extra add-ons next year; perhaps optional rails and slip tape to protect the costly peripheral from all of those imaginary grinds you won't be able to perform.

ha ha TH better than skate. ask any skater what they think. if you don't like skate then you are just not co-ordinated enough and need someone to show you. once you get it there is no way ever anyone can say it isn't as good as TH. the freedom it allows is awesome
