No Tony Hawk's Ride For Wii/PS3 In The UK News

When Activision releases its touted "reinvention" of the Tony Hawk series later in the year, only Xbox 360 gamers in the UK will be able to experience the thrill of the game's motion sensing skateboard peripheral.

This is because the publisher has just announced that the game will be shipping as an Xbox 360 exclusive title for the UK market when it's released later in the year, leaving PS3 and Wii gamers beached without a skateboard peripheral or game to play it with.

Presumably the game will still release across all three platforms at the same time for the rest of Europe and the US, as Activision's announcement appears to be UK specific at this time.

Suspecting a timed exclusive deal, we asked an Acti rep whether the Xbox 360 version's exclusivity was for a limited timed or not but were told that, "All we're saying is what's in the press release".

Of course, Wii owners have always got the balance board aided Skate It to keep them happy, but this does leave the PS3 high and dry on the peripheral front. Nevertheless, PS3 owners have always got the option to import for the region free console.
