Watch out Lara, Tony's on your back.
This was one of the games I was looking out for at E3 this year. I came across the XBox version; Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2X, before this one and was convinced it was going to be the better of the two.

The game keeps with the traditional style of the first two Tony Hawk games, this includes most of the same moves, tricks and grinds. There are a few new extras that will allow the diehard fans to learn how to put new combos together and end up with phenomenal scores. The first time that I played the new title was on the single player game, this was great but I felt that something more was expected from the third game in the series.

The single player mode played very much like the previous versions, and there wasn\\\'t that much more on offer (you do start to think that Activision are starting to milk the brand name a little). Luckily an Activision rep asked me if I would be interested in playing a network game against other people else where at E3. I said that it would be a great experience for myself to see how the multiplayer game plays, and to see how the PlayStation2 performed over the net.

The network game was great with no loss of speed, this made for a great game, I was playing with the person next to me and two other people that were in a different location. I was starting to get the feeling that none of them had ever played any of the Tony Hawk games as I trampled them with a measly score of 200,000.

The graphics on the game could do with some improving as they are still much the same as the other games in the series, to be honest I would expect more from the PlayStation2 in terms of performance both for graphics and new moves etc.

This game is more of the same and I’m sure that it will go down very well with the existing Tony Hawk fans. There is no doubt that it will attract more fans that have never played the game before. In all fairness the game would standout more if it was the first in the series but as the third game I was expecting a lot more in the way of additional features.

<a href=\\\"mailto:KrisM@totalvideogames.com\\\">Kris Massey
