2.6 million copies of Tomb Raider: Legend sold in the first five weeks after launch; publisher on track to hit financial targets this year...

In a financial update released today, Eidos parent company SCI Entertainment has revealed that sales of Tomb Raider: Legend have reached 2.6 million in the first five weeks since its launch in April. With the title also set for release on Nintendo's GameCube, DS, and GameBoy Advance platforms, SCi expects sales in the title to continue throughout the rest of the year. As a result, the company has stated that it is now on track to hit its profit targets by the end of the year in June 2006.

The return of Agent 47 in Hitman: Blood Money on Xbox 360, Xbox, PlayStation2, and PC at the end of May is also expected to continue SCi's fortunes with pre-orders for the title described as 'strong'.

Speaking about today's update, Jane Cavanagh, CEO of SCi Entertainment Group plc, said "We are delighted with the success of Tomb Raider Legend and look forward to the imminent release of Hitman: Blood Money. The product portfolio for the 2007 financial year is very strong and provides a base for continued profitable growth."

We'll have more on Hitman: Blood Money shortly...

The controls and camera in Tomb Raider Legend are even worse than Tomb Raider AOD. I don't like the analog stick for the caracter movement
