Ubisoft confirms that the third iteration of Ghost Recon will be an Advanced Warfighter...

Ubisoft has today confirmed that the official title of the previously known game â??Ghost Recon 3â? is Tom Clancyâ??s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. The game, which is set for a Winter 2005 release on Xbox 360, Xbox, PlayStation2, GameCube, and PC, is set in 2013 and follows the deployment of the Intergrated Warfighter System (IWS) â?“ the Soldiers of the Future.

With advanced weapons systems, satellite communication and enhanced survivability, the IWS equipped â??Ghostsâ? are sent into Mexico City to take back the metropolis for democracy after an attempted military coup. Taking on the role of Scott Mitchell, gamers will be thrown into urban combat and tries to rescue the US President, re-acquire nuclear codes, and eliminate the rogue Mexican military units who have taken over the sprawling capital.

Promising a range of new features set to push the franchise to new boundaries, you can read our First Look Preview of Tom Clancyâ??s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter here.

Weâ??ll have more on Ubisoftâ??s future releases shortly ...
