The Mexican conflict erupts into full-scale civil war as Mitchell and the Ghosts attempt to stop the fighting from seeping into the US...
Announced during Ubisoft's financial results in October, the publisher has today revealed further details on the Spring 2007 release of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. Set in 2014, a year on from the original instalment of GRAW, the sequel sees Scott Mitchell and the rest of the Ghosts attempt to hold back the now erupted Mexican civil war as it threatens to spill over into the US.
Ubisoft has announced a plethora new advancements to the game, and in addition to the dynamic weather (revealed in a US publication back in mid-November) and day/night cycles, the Cross-Com technology has been upgraded to include up to full screen points of view from the Ghosts and other friendly forces. Both Ghost and enemy AI has been improved for better flanking and tactical awareness, with wider support from artillery and jet fighters. Players will also be able to heal injured Ghosts on the battlefields thanks to the introduction of a new Medic Class. As well defending the US/Mexican border, the Ghosts will find themselves heading towards the vulnerable city of El Paso, Texas.
"Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter set the standard for what we know as the next-generation gaming experience," said Laurent Detoc, President of Ubisoft North America. "With Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, Ubisoft is taking all the successful elements in the original to an unparalleled level of quality - the sophisticated technology, weaponry, graphics, story and online gameplay will heighten the intensity and bring gamers an even more amazing experience."
GRAW2 will be released during Spring 2007 for Xbox 360, PlayStation3, PSP, and PC; we'll have more news shortly...
