Ubisoft confirms Tom Salta as composer for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2...

With the release of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 just over a week away on Xbox 360, Ubisoft has confirmed that composer Tom Salta has returned to score the title, continuing the work he began in 2006's GRAW.

Salta is something of as veteran at Ubisoft, penning the music to the eerie survival horror title Cold Fear in 2005, and Red Steel for Wii. He's also worked on several titles for Microsoft Game Studios including Project Gotham Racing 3 and Crackdown, and PlayStation3's Full Auto 2: Battlelines for SEGA.

Manu Bachet, Music Supervisor for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 at Ubisoft, said, "Our goal on the sequel was to match the same high quality level as the acclaimed Tom Clancy's GRAW1 soundtrack. However Tom exceeded our expectations and has brought Tom Clancy's GRAW2 score to the next level, guiding the whole orchestra and choir performance to beautifully balance the thin line between emotion and violence - right where the magic happens."

GRAW2 is due for release on Xbox 360 from March 9th, with PSP and PC versions due at the end of March. The PlayStation3 version, which had been pencilled for a release during the spring, has now been pushed back to June.
