Although Free Radical confirmed a year ago that Timesplitters 4 is in development at the Nottingham based studio, the first we've seen of pretty much anything to do with the game (apart from a Halo 4 parodying flash trailer) has now been posted on the developer's site.

While it's just a few pieces of concept art, the three images are pretty darn funny. Our particular favourite is 'Cat Racing: Underground', although 'Sister Jobeth vs. The Zombie Apocalypse' also has its charms.

Whichever your favourite is, they certainly illustrate a new direction for the series that was hinted at when Rob Yescombe, the studio's Screenwriter and all-round purveyor of the loud and arcane, first confirmed the game's existence:

"In the past Timesplitters has been very satirical at the expense of movies, this time it will be satirical at the expense of video games."
