Saber's time-stopping shooter is confirmed for PlayStation3; delayed FPS due to arrive this autumn...

Vivendi Games has today confirmed that TimeShift, which has already been announced for Xbox 360 and PC, will also be released this autumn on PlayStation3.

The first-person shooter has had something of a turbulent time in development; originally picked up by Atari, the game formed part of a mass raft of brands and studios sold off by the French publisher as part of a huge re-structuring program, before Vivendi signed it twelve months ago.

"Sierra Entertainment and Sabre Interactive are changing the way gamers play FPS games by giving them the ultimate weapon - Time," said Al Simone, SVP of Global Marketing for Sierra Entertainment. "TimeShift will compete with the best shooter games of the year on any platform and will offer PLAYSTATION 3 gamers a visceral new experience unlike any they have ever seen or played before."

Vivendi has also confirmed that the multiplayer aspect of TimeShift will feature gameplay for up to 16 players, across 14 maps, and 7 gametypes.
