The space-time continuum title goes Beta with participants trying out the multiplayer mode...

Atari and Saber Interactive have today announced that Beta testing for the forthcoming FPS TimeShift will begin during the last week of January. Participants will test the multiplayer mode of the game to ensure balancing and other fine-tuning, although they'll have to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement in the process.

A further incentive is that a select number of testers will be able to test the Single Player campaign of the game, which follows the story of Michael Swift, a test pilot who goes back in time only to find an alternate present on his return...

Beta testing will see up to sixteen players per map fighting it out with a range of standard present and alternate present munitions, including the time-stopping/slowing time grenades, as well as the various gun turrets dotted through the environments.

Minimum specs for the Beta test are: CPU: 2 GHz or equivalent CPU, 512MB RAM, 6-gig free hard drive space, 128MB VRAM with pixel shader 1.1 support, and ADSL or better network connection. To stand a chance of participating in the Beta test fill in the form and cross your fingers.
