EA Sports announces that this year's Tiger Woods will be compatibility with Sony's Motion Controller but not Microsoft's Project Natal...
EA Sports has announced a July 2nd European release date (June 8th in the US) for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, which will launch on the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3. As with last year's game, the Wii version will be MotionPlus compatible and, in something of a shock announcement, EA has promised to support Sony's Motion Controller in this year's PS3 version as well.
Xbox 360 owners will have to wait until next year's game for Natal integration though, with EA citing the game's release date as a mitigating factor. It seems the June/July release is a little too early for the EA Tiburon team to get Natal programming into this year's instalment (thanks, VG247).
In a first for the series, the Ryder Cup will be amongst the game's roster of tournaments this year, which will allow players to choose between the European and US teams and take part in the tournament's various competition formats (foursomes, fourballs, singles, and head-to-head). Players will also be able to take this team play online, allowing up to 24 players to compete in one game via PSN or Xbox Live.
A second first for the series comes from this year's box art, which will feature a second golfer alongside Tiger Woods. Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy will join Woods on the cover in what EA is promoting as a decision that reflects the Ryder Cup tournament, although we suspect that the issue of a philandering Tiger might have played a part as well.
"This is a huge honour for me to be the on the cover with Tiger Woods as I grew up idolising Tiger," said McIlroy. "The Ryder Cup has always been my favourite sporting event and the tournament is being played at The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales in 2010. Also, I'm hopeful to have an opportunity to represent the European team later in the year - it's all very special."
Watch your back, Tiger - there's a young upstart in town.

I'd like to go back to the old putting style of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010. The focus requirement to boost is a payne as well.

I think this year's version offers a big step forward in terms of gameplay than the last couple oif games. Features such as True-Aim and the new Focus system add a lot to the pure gameplay experience. I go into more depth about them in the TVG review, which might help if you're having trouble making up your mind about whether to purchase it.

Could anyone who has bought this game, tell me whether they think its worth shelling out £40 for? I didnt bother buying last years as i felt the previous couple had all been far too similar and too easy, seriously considering this one, so any thoughts from people who have bought it would be great.
Thanks in advance.

The PC market just isn't big enough for sports games anymore. Everybody does their sports gaming on consoles it would seem, so you can scold EA for not caring about PC gamers, or you can acknowledge that they are a business and don't want to produce products that don't turn a profit.

Once again EA screw the PC users who have supported them since the early days way back 99. I will never buy an EA game again since the way they have treated it's customers.

"To buy this would be like saying "it's perfectly ok to behave this way mate, you carry on and we'll keep filling your pockets with our money""
That is an opinion but not a vaild opinion.
