Jonathan Blow reveals the first batch of concept art for his follow-up to Braid, The Witness...

Braid creator and ardent defender of indie game development values, Jonathan Blow has lifted the lid on his second project, titled The Witness, with some ravishing concept art.

There's not much else to go on over at the project's blog, other than a mildly technical explanation of what Blow is doing with lighting at this early stage. However, this first batch of artwork is a casual nod towards the game's direction at the very least.

Last July, some details surfaced on the then untitled project from job ads that Blow posted on his Braid blog, which spoke of a "puzzle-exploration" theme that would be "philosophical, and quiet". A few weeks later, Blow tentatively slated The Witness for a late 2011 release.
