TVG continues our roam around the streets of New York and the gangs faced by The Warriors...
In The Warriors, you take control of one of the toughest street gangs in New York City. But what makes a gang great if not for great enemies? Building on the characters in the classic 1979 film, Rockstar Games has raised the stakes on this reinvention of the classic brawler by creating some of the most memorable, and lethal, opponents in recent videogame memory. If the Warriors truly want to become one of the most feared gangs in New York City, they have some stiff competition, as weâ??ll see below.
The Boppers
Tough enough to keep other colors off their turf, The Boppers keep Harlem smooth. A softer set that grooves with style instead of muscle, they are known for their distinctive fedoras and tendency to hang in the local nightlife. The fact that their gang name means to rumble should tell you that they are a gang that should not be treated lightly.
The Hurricanes
The Hurricanes are a family based Puerto-Rican set, made up hustlers and swindlers. These brawlers drop their colors in Spanish Harlem and love a dirty fight. You can usually find them in the Stripes and Solids, a local bar in Spanish Harlem, prepared to throw down at a moments notice.
The Savage Huns
The Savage Huns are skilled in Martial Arts and can withstand a hefty beating. They deal in extortion and loan-sharking and have some heavy numbers. Their Warlord, Ghost, is a very spiritual and disciplined martial artist who never speaks. Look for the Savage Huns in Chinatown, or better yetâ?”stay out of their way, unless youâ??re prepared for an all-out brawl.
The Hi-Hats
SOHO is the home turf of the Hi-Hats. Known for there painted faces, these â??evil mimesâ? are led by Chatterbox, a stuttering, overweight, self-proclaimed art aficionado / pseudo-intellectual who shares his soldiersâ?? penchant for face paint. The Hi-Hats possess a similar style of intensity to that of The Baseball Furies, but to a lesser degreeâ?¦they just are not as feared as The Furies.
TVG would like to thank Rockstar for guiding us through the mean streets of New York and the world of The Warriors. Weâ??ll have more on The Warriors very soon.
