EA announce details on the latest expansion pack, is anyone else getting bored of this yet???

Electronic Arts today announced the release of the fifth expansion to their insanely popular PC title, The Sims. The Sims Unleashed adds the usual selection of new careers, objects and skins, however the major addition is the inclusion of pets for your virtual family.

For the first time ever the Sims can visit a pet-store and bring home a variety of different creatures to piss and shit all over your carefully crafted house; creatures available include Dogs, Cats, Fish, Parrots, Lizards and Turtles. Of course your Sims can train the pets, or hire an efficient Pet Trainer to do all of the dirty work. You’ll also be able to enter your pet in the local Pet Show, where they’re judged on obedience, tricks and good manners.

Also new to The Sims is… gardening, allowing your sims to enjoy growing a variety of vegetables in the allotment out back. Proper use of the garden will yield a crop that can be picked and stored in the new Kitchen pantry or sold at the local farmer’s market.

The pack adds 50 new jobs through five career paths, sims can now enter the world of fashion, become a culinary genius, take care of the pets as a veterinarian, become a teacher or run away and join the circus. Over 125 objects join the list, all styled in a New Orleans French quarter theme.

“Just when players thought they had housebroken their Sims, now they have pets to contend with,” said Jonathan Knight, Producer at EA’s Maxis studio. “Pets are something that the fans of The Sims have wanted since the original Sims was released and Unleashed will deliver in spay-eds!”

the Sims Unleashed is due for release in September.
