An early 2009 release for the return of the record-breaking Sims series...

Save up those simoleans, The Sims 3 is heading to shop shelves and digital download on February 20th 2009.

To commemorate the latest title in a series that has sold over 100 million copies to-date, The Sims 3 will also be released in a Collector's Edition featuring various Sims merchandise and an exclusive in-game Italian styled sports car.

The Sims 3 brings a host of improvements and new features to the series, including a new seamless open neighbourhood, Create-A-Sim mode, unique personality traits and unlimited customisation.

"I'm excited to get the next-generation flagship PC game from The Sims Label, The Sims 3, into player's hands worldwide on February 20," said Rod Humble, Head of The Sims Studio. "The Sims 3 Collector's Edition, launching on the same day, will offer a very special Sims experience to our loyal players."

TVG will be taking a close look at The Sims 3 during Leipzig Games Convention, so keep your eyes peeled for further information.
