EA Reveals The Sims 3 Spec News

Minimum specifications revealed by EA for the upcoming Sims trequel; XP and Vista desktops and laptops included...

There's just over six weeks to go until Electronic Arts unleashes those Sims return for a third outing in the aptly named, The Sims 3.

Due for release on PC from February 20th, The Sims 3 is the latest in EA Maxis' massively successful franchise, which has spawned numerous spin-off content packs and even the occasional console game or two.

Today, EA has released the minimum PC specifications required to run the title, across both laptop and desktop platforms, and running either Windows XP or Windows Vista:

Desktop:

CPU: Pentium IV 2.0 GHz, Athlon XP 2000+ (XP) // Pentium IV 2.4 GHz, Athlon XP 2400+ (Vista)
RAM: 1.0 GB (XP) // 1.5 GB (Vista)
Graphics: GeForce FX 5900, Radeon 9500 (XP and Vista)
Video RAM: 128 MB (XP and Vista)

Laptop:

CPU: Pentium IV 2.0 GHz, Athlon XP 2000+ (XP) // Pentium IV 2.4 GHz, Athlon XP 2400+ (Vista)
RAM: 1.5 GB (XP) // 2.0 GB (Vista)
Graphics: GoForce Go 6200, Radeon mobile 9600 (XP and Vista)
Video RAM: 128 MB (XP and Vista)

The 'You May Like This' box above is referring to a different game (Tom Clancy's HAWX), it's just that no box art has been posted for the HAWX directory. The 'You May Like This' boxes are automatically generated by the site and are supposed to provide other options of games for readers to look at. The Sims 3 directory can be found above on the right hand side, where it clearly states that Sims 3 is only available on PC.
