After yesterday's news that the dysfunctional family will be making their videogame return this autumn, EA lifts the lid further...
During a conference call to discuss their financial results in the last fiscal year, executives at Electronic Arts revealed that The Simpsons game will be released in time for the DVD release of the upcoming feature film this autumn.
Set to appear on a multitude of platforms including Xbox 360, PlayStation3, PlayStation2, PSP, Nintendo DS, and Wii, The Simpsons Game will feature the Springfield family as they find themselves trapped in a videogame, endowed with various superpowers along the way. According to US-based Gamespot, the game will feature Homer, Bart, Marge, and Lisa in over a dozen episodes that parody other videogames, with EA's marketing including mock posters for "Neverquest", "Grand Theft Scratchy", and "Bartman Begins".
"Our goal in developing THE SIMPSONS GAME is to create the most original game ever, which is a lofty goal and only possible given the close collaboration with 'The Simpsons' creative team," said Scot Amos, Executive Producer of the project. "We're also especially proud of the game's warm visual feel, which captures - for the first time ever in a game - the look of the TV show." Added Amos, "As Comic Book Guy says, 'Best. Simpsons Game. Ever!'"
"The EA group was so enormously talented and beyond belief energetic that I am thinking of suing for second hand exhaustion," said James L. Brooks, Executive Producer of "The Simpsons."

To do that on X-Box you need to controllers (main & friend) The 'friend' one all you have to do is press start
