LucasArts announces that a range of its classic games will be coming to Steam on Wednesday...
Further to its Twitter based teasing over the weekend, LucasArts has now revealed that it's bringing a number of its classic titles including Indiana Jones and The Fate of Atlantis, LOOM, and Star Wars: Battlefront II to Steam.
The games will arrive on Valve's digital download service this Wednesday, July 8th. Here's the full list of titles:
- Armed and Dangerous
- Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
- Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure
- LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure
- LOOM
- Star Wars Battlefront II
- Star Wars Republic Commando
- Star Wars Starfighter
- The Dig
- Thrillville: Off the Rails
It doesn't sound like the publisher is going to stop there either with the company's President, Darrell Rodriguez clearly indicating that more classics are on the way after this initial wave of re-releases.
"This effort is going to make it possible to introduce a whole new generation of gamers to LucasArts' classic games," Rodriguez explained. "It also gives more people a chance to play our games by making them available long after they've disappeared from store shelves. We hope our fans are as excited as we are about our plans and we can't wait to share what's coming next. This is just the beginning."
On top of this, LucasArts has also announced that Tales of Monkey Island, the all-new episodic game series from Telltale Games, will premiere on the PC tomorrow. A WiiWare version for Nintendo's home console will follow in the coming weeks.
A release date for The Secret of Monkey Island revamp was also revealed. This Special Edition of the game, which has re-mastered sound and HD graphics, will be available for PC and over XBLA on July 15th.
