Although the continued success of Blizzard's World of Warcraft serves as an indication of the possible popularity of MMO titles, the troubles facing The Matrix Online proves to be a reminding jolt that creating and maintaining such titles is never an easy task.

Today a message was sent to subscribers highlighting plans to merge nine servers into three, a move designed to improve the social side of the game but one that glaringly confirms the lack of players currently jacked into The Matrix.
