The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II

Electronic Arts has today confirmed a Collector's Edition of Battle for Middle-Earth II, which is set for a Spring release on PC. Gamers who purchase this edition of the title will get an extra DVD featuring a raft of additional content from trailers and the musical score, to a "Making of..." featurette and art files from the game.

The Collector's Edition will also feature exclusive in-game content including a fire-breathing dragon, exclusive maps including Weathertop & the Argonath, whilst "Create-A-Hero" characters will have their very own graphical treatment that will set them apart from Standard Edition units during online play.

A double-sided campaign map will also be provided with the Collector's Edition of the game, one side denoting the Good campaign the other, the Evil Forces' campaign.

"We believe we've created something very special with The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II, and our team felt passionate about making a Collector's Edition that is truly special for the fans," said Mike Verdu, Executive Producer at EA Los Angeles. "The exclusive content including the behind-the-scenes footage, amazing concept art, cinematic paintings and sequences, the extensive soundtrack, and access to the unique dragon unit adds new dimension to the gaming experience."

Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II is set for a PC release on March 3rd 2006; we'll have more news shortly...

I just finished the good campaign, and I was let down. It was cool to be the elves and the dwarves, but the movie was all about the men. It would have been cool to continue the campaign, but as men now.I think that there should heve been more to the campaign then there was. Also it was very short compared to the campaign in the first lord of the rings, the battle for middle earth. (and where was legolas? Is he not an elf? Shouldnt he have been there to help his people?)
