Nintendo finally gives the fans what they want, a realistic adult Link...

You canâ??t help but get the feeling that Nintendo have taken E3â??04 as an example to show theyâ??ve learned from their previous mistakes, witness the multiplayer emphasised by the DS and certainly none more so then the appearance of a realistic Link in The Legend of Zelda.

Whilst nobody could seriously level a complaint at the genius of The Wind Waker (apart from padding the game out that is), thereâ??s no denying that the cell-shaded visual style certainly put off a wide range of Nintendo fans initially.

However now there can be no complaints, as Nintendo confirmed the development of a new Zelda title scheduled for release in 2005. Without doubt the brief footage weâ??ve seen so far indicates one of the most visually accomplished titles weâ??ve seen on any format, certainly up there with the other GameCube highlight â?“ Resident Evil 4.

Sadly Nintendo chose not to divulge any specific details, however the appearance of an adult link and Epona should be enough to make even the hardest Zelda fan piss himself like a little toddler â?“ quite simply this is Nintendoâ??s answer to Halo2, Fable, and whatever other games the competition can muster.

The absolutely amazing yet painfully short video footage depicted adult Link as he first rode across Hyrule atop of Epona, before battling with a number of familiar (but never looking so good) enemies including a Moblin, Bokoblins, and lots of Lizalfos. As the sun sets dark riders advance across the horizon, whilst another scene sees Link fighting a fiery boss, seen in numerous Zelda titles of the past. Itâ??s quite surprising just how much was shown in the video as Link solved puzzles in a dungeon and explored a forest, hopefully suggesting that development is already at a late stage.

As the video footage came to an end, Miyamoto took the stage with Master Sword and Shield to hand quipping "I am not Link, but I do know him!".

Certainly Link is back, Miyamoto is back and Nintendo are well and truly backâ?¦

This is a great one, Windwaker disappointed me but this one was a hit. I think its more to do with the graphics than anything else. This was enjoyable and entertaining. Im currently on my 3rd round of completing it.
