KOF returns in a new 3D title promising a return to the central theme...
Returning to the traditional yearly tagline, dropped after the release of The King of Fighters 2003, SNK Playmore USA recently announced the latest title in the series for the Playstation2.
The King of Fighters 2006 follows last year's Maximum Impact in presenting a 3D fighter as opposed to staying true to the series 2D roots, but promises to stick much closer to the look, feel and central storyline of KOF then the Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting inspired design of Maximum Impact.
In traditional manner KOF 2006 promises a host of new characters alongside returning ones, and will hopefully continue The Tales of Ash saga portrayed in KOF 2003 and KOF XI.
"KOF 2006 will be a perfect mix of speed, beauty and an all-new story line." said Ben Herman, SNK PLAYMORE USA president. "Our fans expect our fighting games to be fast - whether they're 2D or 3D, and KOF 2006 is not going to disappoint them."
