Despite the non-appearance of a theatrical sequel, that hasn’t stopped VU from pushing ahead with a new title...

Vivendi-Universal today announced the development of The Incredible Hulk for the Playstation2, Xbox and GameCube.

Currently in development at Radical Games, creators of last yearâ??s popular Hulk adaptation; the action/adventure promises fully destructible environments set in a massive free-roaming fully interactive world, whilst The Hulk can use his ability to turn any object into a weapon.

Eisner-Award winning comic book writer Paul Jenkins (Hulk, Spider-Man) has been enlisted to pen the storyline and script, whilst the game will also feature artwork created by signature comic-book artist Bryan Hitch (The Ultimates).

â??Our collaboration with Marvel on The Incredible Hulk will give gamers the opportunity to play as one of the most powerful and exciting characters to ever exist,â? said Michael Pole, EVP, Worldwide Studios, VU Games. â??The Incredible Hulk will deliver unlimited power and freedom immersed in an authentic world that will engage Hulk fans and core gamers.â?

â??We are very excited to have Radical developing this new Hulk title, continuing another blockbuster Marvel game franchise,â? said Ames Kirshen, Director Of Video Game Development at Marvel Enterprises. â??Vivendi Universal Games and Radical are creating an interactive world where the player will have all of the freedoms and larger than life abilities of the Hulk in enormous and interactive â??sandboxâ?? environments which really capture the essence of the character.â?

TVG recently chatted to the guys at Radical Games regarding the title and will have an interview posted soon.

The Incredible Hulk is scheduled for release in Summer 2005.
