Despite rumours to the contrary, Bethesda states that it will be making another Elder Scrolls title...

Despite rumours to the contrary, Bethesda Softwork's Pete Hines has clarified that The Elder Scrolls series is very much in Bethesda's plans for the future and that reports from last week's QuakeCon, that casted doubt on the possibility of an Edler Scrolls V, were inaccurate.

The rumours first surfaced after Todd Howard (Bethesda Softworks' Game Director) made his keynote QuakeCon address. Some outlets covering the event took comments of his to mean that an Elder Scrolls V game was doubtful, which Pete Hines has now clarified on the publisher's blog:

"Apparently some folks got a bit upset by reports based on Todd's talk at QuakeCon last week. An article came out where Todd was quoted as saying we had no plans for a TES V. He did not say that. That was not a direct quote from him. That was someone's interpretation of what he said. I know, I was there," said Hines.

"At his QuakeCon talk he was asked when TESV is coming out and Todd replied, "Don't look for a new Elder Scrolls game in the near future."  He also went on to say how much the franchise means to us and that it definitely will continue," Hines continued. "He just wasn't going to provide any timeframe on "when." This should not be news to anyone that has been paying attention. Both Todd and I have said repeatedly that, of course, we're going to do another Elder Scrolls game. The last one was enormously popular. So was the one before that. You get the idea. So do we."

There was also talk of an Elder Scrolls MMO following Howard's speech, which Hines also clarified at some length:

"In regards to the MMO comment, he was asked if there was "any chance of an Elder Scrolls MMO" and he replied - in a joking fashion - by saying "I guess there's a chance." To be clear, Todd and his team do not make MMOs, for any franchise, at all," Hines stated. "We have another division - ZeniMax Online Studios - which is lead by Matt Firor, and they are working on an MMO. They have not said anything about what game they are making. When ZeniMax Online is ready to show what they are up to, we'll let everyone know. Until then we aren't going to provide hints or speculate on what they're doing either."

Pretty good, but not perfect by any means. Graphics are superb and content is plenty however the game is still plagued with issues even after the last patch. Too many NPC's in the game are immortal and that takes a whole lot out of the game. If there are npcs in the game who are immortal then the citizens of skyrim should send these immortal souls out to fight the dragons and wage war. Dragons are unbelievably weak while city guards are unbelievably powerful? Mmm K! On the ps3 the weapon racks and plaques are still unusable post patch and this is something that has been brought up by countless people since day one. Some spells don't work properly such as "Fury". Some side quests lack clear guidance or give none at all, have no title, and completed portions of the these certain quests cannot be referenced in your completed quests log. Enemy bodies disappear, float, fall through the earth, or get stuck in objects. You can glitch kill in just about every single encounter including dragon battles. The enemy seemingly gets confused, can't climb or jump to reach you, or for unknown reasons flee from combat allowing execution style kills and cheap shots. Perhaps one of the only challenges in the game is battling the city guard which reaps no reward and gains you faction with noone which doesn't seem or feel accurate. Infact I am willing to go out on a limb and say the game is far FAR more scripted then Oblivion ever tried to be and as far as replayablity doesn't measure up to Oblivions replayability respectably speaking. Never the less I own the game and play it often, a masterpiece in its own ways. It is a product of hard work, imagination, creativity, and passion and it stands proudly as a crowning jewel in the Fantasy RPG genre.

The grammer is fine anon... I thought that the less than perfect game engine and rag doll effects make the Bethesda games have a lot of charm.
