New developer at the helm of noirish horror sequel...
2K games has announced The Darkness II, a sequel to 2007’s supernatural horror FPS. The new title is being developed by Digital Extremes, who were responsible for the multiplayer component of Bioshock 2. It will launch for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC this autumn.
Comic book writer Paul Jenkins returns to pen the story, in which players reprise the role of Jackie Estacado in the midst of an all-out mafia war. The “Quad-Wielding” gameplay of the original is intact in the sequel, and players can slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with their “Demon Arms” while dual-wielding conventional wepons with their human arms.
“The Darkness II is a well of dark and imaginative violence, and it’s a stylized and beautiful nightmare,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K, in a press release.
“The game takes a unique stance on fighting in the dark versus light. Combined with the arsenal of weapons at Jackie’s disposal and the gruesome attacks of the supernatural Demon Arms and Darkness powers, we’re proud to announce another title that delivers on our core values of creating games for gamers.”

im waiting for the review, gwynne dixon should be very carefull when he reviews this as there are sceens where women do some very indecent things with men 'are you reading gwynne', he knocked the saboteur for having semi naked women in a bar yet there were not performing leud acts on the males in the game yet in the darkness 2 they do, does this mean the game will be down rated just like the score for the saboteur or will he be a complete hypocrite and say this add atmosphere and charicter to the game.
either way i enjoyed the saboteur aswell as the first darkness game, its just a shame morons like gwynne cant review a game properly.
