TVG got chased around the Convention Centre to bring you shots of what's happening...

With nothing better to do in the days before E3, TVG had a jaunt down to the LA Convention Centre in an attempt to get a sneak peek of what was happening. Wrongly believing nobody to be around on a Sunday afternoon, we trekked to Downtown with cameras loaded and ready to shoot, only to be thwarted by militant security guards patrolling the grounds

Walking from one hall to the other in a nonchalant fashion and doing our best to look like tourists, it didn't take too long before we attracted the attention of a guard following our every movement in his buggy - perhaps it was the tripod poking out of the backpack, perhaps it was the fact we'd been beaten by others who'd managed to sneak inside.

So this news article, that probably has little significance, brings but a few shots, safely taken far away from the Convention Centre grounds with little risks of our cameras being smashed to pieces.

Taking centre stage on the West Hall and for the first time on the adjacent Staples Centre, Sony was keen to push the Playstation3 with typically enigmatic designs proclaiming gamers to "Play Beyond".

Playing second fiddle, Microsoft's big title (from outside at least) was Epic Games Gears of War, revealing precious few details beyond "Emergence Day" still occurring in 2006.

With last year's Matrix: The Path of Neo taking over South Hall, Atari has returned once again with Neverwinter Nights 2 - a suggestion that the beleaguered publisher is making a resurgence of sorts and likely to continue impressing with Obsidian's widely anticipated RPG.

Finally Stranglehold suggests a similar resurgence of sorts for Midway, whilst 2K Games appear to be placing a lot of faith behind The Da Vinci Code becoming a smash-hit during the summer.

Oh and we nearly forgot, Nokia trying to remind everybody that the n-gage is still alive, if not exactly kicking...
