A multiplayer map pack for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is on the way...

With the game scheduled for release on April 24th, details of the first portion of downloadable content for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena have now arrived.

The DLC will come in the form of a multiplayer map pack that will add five maps to the 15 that come on the disc, although IGN is reporting that there's no confirmation of whether or not the maps will be playable in all of the game's six game modes.

No details were mentioned of a release date over Xbox Live/PSN or how much the map pack will cost when it gets there.

If it's just extra maps I don't see the issue with, especially if they're free.  It's talking about extra game modes the day before the game's released that I'm suspicious of.

The game hasn't been released yet and they're already talking about the DLC? Since when was DLC. How long til we buy the game engine and have to pay for each and every level? Or til rented DLC - pay for the extra maps, get them for a month? When I were a lad you paid for a game and got a whole game. Expansions were released months or years later, not developed alongside the main content.

@ Snowdon

Yeah, I'm 99% certain Vin lent both his voice and likeness to Rid[#@!?] again.  I'm looking forward to playing this, but I don't think a demo is due on PSN yet :(
