The Binding of Isaac will be released for PC/Mac over Steam next week...

Edmund McMillen, the co-creator behind one of the biggest indie hits of last year, Super Meat Boy is releasing a new game over Steam next week titled The Binding of Isaac.

McMillen left this typically endearing message over on his blog announcing a September 28th release date for the game, which appears to offer-up a twisted mix of gameplay styles with touching points as far afield as Geometry Wars and Diablo. A $5 price is mentioned in the message, although UK pricing is yet to emerge over Steam.

As Co-CEO of Team Meat, McMillen lent his unmistakable art style to both the browser-based Meat Boy and its XBLA follow-up, Super Meat Boy. Prior to forming Team Meat with fellow indie developer, Tommy Refenes, McMillen also worked as the character artist and animator on Jonathan Blow's Braid.
