MTV Games has announced the UK pricing for The Beatles: Rock Band and it's less painful than first thought...
MTV Games has officially announced the peripherals for The Beatles: Rock Band's Limited Edition Premium Bundle, while also announcing a UK pricing for the bundle of £179.99.
This is slightly less than we'd first feared. The US bundle will go on sale for $249.99, which translates with today's exchange rate to approximately £170. Given the tendency for US electronics products to be considerably cheaper than their European counterparts, the relative UK price tag of £179.99 is at least mildly reasonable.
On the other hand, we're thinking that you'd have to be a real Beatles nut to fork-out that much cash (particularly if you already own compatible Rock Band peripherals), although these particular peripherals do sound very plush:
- The Beatles: Rock Band software
- Höfner Bass controller: Large scale replica of the Bass famously used by Sir Paul McCartney
- Beatles-inspired and Ludwig-branded Rock Band 2 drums with classic pearl finish and vintage replica Beatles kick drum head
- Microphone
- Microphone Stand
- Additional special content

why dont they bring out a heavy metal rock band game, sure rock band 1 and 2 both have fairly heavy songs in them but no dark, goth, thrash, nu metal. come on harmonix takse us to the dark side of rock.

No details on that as yet. The Abbey Road DLC is due to come shortly after release though, so it obviously won't be integral to the boxed copy's career mode. It might have added story elements or something, but we'll have to wait for more info on that.

I think that for a full priced game, the song list is a little short. I love all the songs that Harmonix has chosen for the game, but only 45 songs can't really explain the whole career of The Beatles.
(One question, Will the downloadable content be usable in hte Story/Career mode of The Beatles; Rock Band?)

INSTANT BUY. Been waiting my whole life to be like The Beatles. I hope this inspires me to pick up my guitar and play it again. Can't wait to rock out as the Beatles, the greatest band EVAR! Beatles Forever, rock will never die. Gotta keep this good feeling going!!!!
