Harmonix reveals that bringing the full Beatles back catalogue of music to Rock Band will be "stretching it a bit"...
When The Beatles: Rock Band launches worldwide on September 9th, it'll be joined at retail by the re-release of all the band's albums as digitally remastered versions of the originals. There have also been indications that The Beatles' back catalogue of music could be made available via digital download at some point in the not too distant future.
With this in mind, what are the chances of the entire Beatles back catalogue eventually being made available via DLC for The Beatles: Rock Band? Slim, according to Harmonix's John Drake:
"The entire catalogue might be stretching it a bit," Drake revealed in a TVG Q&A. "I think we'll have a lot of the relevant and live music with four player band instrumentation. That being said, there's no fixed cap right now. We have a certain number of songs we're working on right now. Apple Corp has said they're interested in working and going forward, so we're hoping to do as much as they'll let us have."
The Beatles: Rock Band will come packaged with 45 tracks on the game disc, while the DLC that has been officially announced for the game will add the Abbey Road album and 'All You Need Is Love' single (the latter of which will be exclusive to the Xbox 360).

why dont they bring out a heavy metal rock band game, sure rock band 1 and 2 both have fairly heavy songs in them but no dark, goth, thrash, nu metal. come on harmonix takse us to the dark side of rock.

No details on that as yet. The Abbey Road DLC is due to come shortly after release though, so it obviously won't be integral to the boxed copy's career mode. It might have added story elements or something, but we'll have to wait for more info on that.

I think that for a full priced game, the song list is a little short. I love all the songs that Harmonix has chosen for the game, but only 45 songs can't really explain the whole career of The Beatles.
(One question, Will the downloadable content be usable in hte Story/Career mode of The Beatles; Rock Band?)
