Nintendo Confirms Tetris DS Euro Release Date News

Nintendo has today confirmed a European release date of April 21st 2006 for Tetris DS, the latest version of the iconic puzzler. Each of the game's modes is themed around classic Nintendo franchises so expect to see (and hear) the original Super Mario Bros. play out in the top screen during the Standard Mode, a tug-of-war with Donkey Kong during the Push Mode (where players have to force an opponent off the screen by using the bricks), a Zelda themed Mission Mode, the Yoshi themed Puzzle Mode (where players have to work out the correct way to clear a set of bricks) and a Metroid themed Catch Mode (where players have to catch bricks and form them into 4x4 grids).

By making use of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, players can also hook up with three others from around the world, or up to ten players locally, thanks to the multiplayer versions of Standard Mode and Push Mode - gone are the days of GameBoy System Link cables...
