Ubisoft has a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fighting game in the works for Nintendo's Wii...
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are set to return to the gaming scene next year in a new 2.5D fighter, which is being published by Ubisoft and is set for release on Nintendo's Wii in September.
Early indications are that this fighter will follow a similar format to Super Smash Bros. Brawl, with a 4 player vs. mode as well as online implementation that's said to be better than Nintendo's all-star fighter.
This news comes from the January issue of Nintendo Power in the US, with eager beavers on the Neogaf forums suggesting that the development team is made up of ex-Team Ninja and Super Smash Bros. Brawl employees (if true, then that's some impressive lineage).
The Modes on offer will include Story, Battle Royale, Tournament, and Winner/Loser Stays On. Unlockable characters and stages are also set to feature, while fighting arenas will be interactive and each character will be highlighted with a glowing effect for ease of use.
TVG has it on good authority that an official announcement is set to follow next week.
[UPDATE] Since going to press with this article, TVG has received confirmation from Ubisoft that ex-Team Ninja and Super Smash Bros. Brawl devs are working on this new TMNT game, which is slated as a Wii exclusive.

In the Nintendo Power magazine where this was officially and exclusively announced, both super smash and team ninja people are working on this title. It all sounds very interesting and I can't wait to play this when it comes out, though it's gonna be awhile.
