TVG Gets Revamped News

Here at TVG we've launched the most ambitious re-design of our site since it was established in 1998. Everything has been gutted from last year's Ver. X upgrade and been replaced with a more calming colour scheme, a vastly improved layout, smoother search functions, and the long awaited return of forums to the site.

For anybody still reading (all one of you, that is. We really should've put the competition details at the end of the article), here's a rundown of the improvements you can see and experience on our new site:

• Firstly, there's the most obvious change of the colour scheme and layout. TVG has now turned to the lightside making your journey through the land of gaming that bit less daunting.
• Underneath this sleek new bodywork is a more powerful engine and sturdier chassis. Format channels have been added to allow console specific browsing and TVG Play is our coming soon hub for the rapidly expanding world of casual gaming.
• Our new search engine and improved navigation is perhaps the most enhanced area of the site. New 'finders' can be used in the review, preview, and feature sections, allowing readers to search for games by score, genre, platform, and release date - ideal for finding that perfect sports game to satisfy your .
• Back by popular demand are the TVG forums. Indulge in idle chit-chat, let us know your general gaming thoughts, or post on the platform specific boards.
• Build up your own identity in the comment boards and forums with a new avatar layout. Choose anything from Star Wars characters to gun wielding sheep. A personalised Profile homepage for each reader allows you to keep track of your favourite games and articles or comments referring to them all in one handy page. You can also visit neighbouring users with similar gaming interests in a social/networking manner.
• Game pages are now much more detailed, showing everything from awards that the game has received to graphs of its performance in the UK charts in the weeks after its release.
• All the latest video codecs make for top of the range image quality in our game trailers, which you'll also find embedded in our article pages for the first time.

We'll be adding even more new features in the coming weeks, including TVG Play, a dedicated channel to casual/social games that places the emphasis on socialising, and a GamesWiki for you the TVG reader to have your say and craft the website in your own words. We'll also be bringing back an improved video upload, so we hope to see you wiggling around to Wii Fit, squaking at Singstar, or perhaps just impressing us with your gaming skills in Halo.
