THQ set to publish new RTS title from the creator of Total Annhilation...
THQ and Gas Powered Games have today issued a joint statement to announce a deal to publish GPGâ??s forthcoming RTS Supreme Commander, which will be released on PC. Founded by RTS pioneer Chris Taylor, Gas Powered Games are yet to release any real details about the forthcoming title.
"Selecting a partner for Supreme Commander meant finding a publisher with our same commitment to developing innovative, high quality PC games," said Chris Taylor, Founder and Creative Director, Gas Powered Games. "THQ is a clear global leader and we look forward to building the Supreme Commander franchise with them in the years to come."
"We strive to partner with the brightest and most creative development studios in the interactive industry," said Dan Kelly, Senior Vice President of Business Development, THQ. "The track record of Gas Powered Games places them among an elite class of developers and we are confident that together we will deliver a product that will make gamers across the world stand up and take notice."
"Our goal with this franchise is to take the RTS experience into the future," Taylor added. "Supreme Commander will deliver an exciting, accessible gaming experience on a huge scope and scale that will allow players to wield unprecedented control over the entire theater [sic] of war."
Taylor left the now defunct Cavedog Entertainment shortly after the release of Total Annihilation in 1997 to form Gas Powered Games, which has gone on to establish the Dungeon Siege franchise. Weâ??ll have more information on Supreme Commander later on in the summer...

Largest map is not 81 square kilometers, but 81km x 81km, or just over 6500 square kilometers. This is about 40 times the size of Lichtenstein. Other than that, nice review.
