Square Enix confirms a spring release for the sequel to Chris Taylor's critically acclaimed Supreme Commander...
Sqaure Enix has announced that the long-awaited sequel to 2007's Supreme Commander will be available next spring, when the series will return its PC spawning grounds while launching simultaneously on the Xbox 360.
Set 25 years after the events of the original Supreme Commander's Infinite War, Supreme Commander 2 kicks-off after the President of the Colonial Defense Coalition is assassinated, which brings the United Earth Federation, Cyber Nation, and The Illuminate factions into direct conflict.
"The partnership with Square Enix has been a highlight of my career," said Chris Taylor, Founder and Creative Director of Gas Powered Games. "I couldn't be more proud of what the team has accomplished, as the game has continually exceeded all of my expectations throughout its development."
Ever since Total Annihilation, Chris Taylor's RTS calling card has been his Strategic Zoom interface, which allows gamers to pan out of battle to stratospheric heights and organise units from a macro perspective. Fans of Taylor's work will be happy to know that the interface will return in Supreme Commander 2 alongside a wide range of customisable units.

I'd like to finish of today with my rant to just spread a message. First of all, all of us who have bought the dlc for xbox expecting to get new units (quite a few of us) should be refunded and the infinite war re-released with the units promised by Square Enix to PC given to us. Finally to finish of I just want to say that there a bound to be more like me out there, annoyed and angered by this poor choice, and what I say is speak your mind to the forums and comment sections let them know what we think! Remember: It's all complete BULLSH*T

Also about the dlc I've looked on steam and the dlc is cheaper for pc than xbox they pay £7.00 we pay 800mp which is around £10. Now forgive me if I'm wrong but, if we are paying More I think we Deserve the SAME content as PC user other than less which makes ABSOLUTLY NO SENSE!!! It's just lazy stupid exuses. Like I said before: It's all COMPLETE BULLSH*T!!!

I completely agree with the whole 'xbox version is a waste of time'. Square Enix and GPG should know that the selling point for the dlc is the units, without them the thing is pointless. It's all complete bull****!

the dlc is a big waste of time if you have xbox, if you have xbox it only comes with the maps NOT UNITS. this is a load of bull!

Looks like Steam have pushed it back to 5th March inline with the rest of the PC release dates, still, it's worth the wait =)

True, but the only way to play a decent RTS is on a PC =)

That's the PC release. Xbox 360 is coming to the UK on March 19th.
