THQ Admits To Poor Summer News

Below par sales of Stuntman: Ignition and Juiced 2 behind disappointing financial expectations...

Stuntman Ignition

THQ has today reduced its financial expectations for the second and third quarters of the fiscal year, primarily due to the under-performance of Stuntman: Ignition and Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights at retailers in the summer.

Lowering its expectations for the second quarter to $229 million (£111.8 million) and the $490 million (£239.2 million) for the third, the publisher also announced that several of its titles have been pushed back into the 2009 fiscal year, beginning April 1st 2008. The PlayStation 3 version of Frontlines: Fuel of War, De Blob on Wii and Nintendo DS, and Destroy All Humans!: Path of the Furon are all affected by the decision.

"We are disappointed that our latest editions of Juiced and Stuntman did not perform to expectations," said Brian Farrell, president and CEO of THQ. "Because of THQ's commitment to delivering quality products, we have moved the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Destroy All Humans!, and the PS3 version of Frontlines into fiscal 2009. We believe the additional time will enable us to create the best products for our customers."

Farrell added, "Our new title de Blob has generated strong critical acclaim and excitement among gamers. We have decided to schedule this title for global release next fiscal year in order to enhance the game and maximize the opportunity for this new franchise."

Farrell continued, "We are looking forward to this holiday season, with our proven line up, led by WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 on six platforms. Importantly, we expect fiscal 2009 to be a very strong year, as we benefit from a solid product slate, including Disney/Pixar's Wall-E, Red Faction 3, Saints Row 2 and our first games based on the UFC."

1/10 This game is very lousy. The event triggers are off. They released it too early. Many complicated game triggers need to be tested and tweaked a lot. Something that this game clearly lacks.

I would have given a higher score if not for the terribly lousy event triggers.

peaple that say this games sucks because its easy are a buncha f-ing dumb a-holes, sure any idiot(like the ones above)can say its easy if all their trying to accomplish is get from one scene to another, but the main point here is to get 5 stars in each scene, which you can only do by starting your stunt at the beginning of the scense and chaining it all the way to the end without breaking the combo chian(which can be quite difficult somtimes) unlike the previous game no matter how many points you score won't mean much if you want the 5 star, to get 4 stars all you have to do is rack up as many points as is required, but no matter how many points you have and you end up breaking the combo chain you will not get the fifth star. all in all a great game and if you liked the first one this a great sequal don't let a buncha idiots throw you off, heck just look at he site reviews.

I would say 9/10, however if they had an update that made the track arena not have those damn buildings in the middle, and make the damage in the arena as good as the original, then a 10/10 would be in order. :-)

FIRST GAME WAS GREAT, THIS WAS TOO EASY AND THE CARS HANDLING IS RUBBISH AND THERE IS NO SENSE OF SPEED. IF YOU LIKED THE FIRST ONE DON'T BUY THIS.

For some reason the physics in the arena area lot worse than the original...and you can't damage the car either. i.e. the wheels don't come off and you can't completely total it. I'd liked to have had more destruction buthey, it's still damn fun!!!
