2K Games announce that their medieval castle sim has gone gold ahead of its release at the end of the month...

Take 2 Interactiveâ??s fledgling label 2K Games has today announced that Stronghold 2 has gone gold ahead of an April 22nd 2005 release date. The title, which promises to be the most realistic castle sim sinceâ?¦ermâ?¦Stronghold, encompasses several different game modes including Story mode, Campaign mode, Skirmish mode, and an Economic mode, so it should appeal to a wide variety of sim fans.

Featuring a 3D engine that will enable thousands of on-screen characters, Stronghold 2 will enable you to take a close look at medieval life as well as the standard sieges and battles that you expect of it â?“ not to mention knighting your loyal personnel as you see fit.

The game will be one of the first titles to be released under the 2K Games label, which has amassed several key franchises since it was established at the end of 2004 including Civ IV and Elder Scrolls IV.

Weâ??ll have more on Stronghold 2 shortly...
