UK developer confirms the closure of its studio ahead of the release of its first title...

With development wrapped up on its first title ahead of the release of Stolen on the Playstation2, Xbox and PC on April 1st, news today filtered through regarding the closure of its developer blue52.

Adding to the lengthy list of UK casualties, the London-based developer has today confirmed that the doors have been well and truly shut, although itâ??s believed that the decision was made to down-size the significantly large independent developer and that a small group has relocated to continue work on other projects.

If anything it proves to be a starling reminder to the risks associated with independent game development, at a time when the perceived costs of Next-Gen development seems to be a case of consolidation to survive.

Blue52 had previously announced a title known as Deadlands, although itâ??s not yet known what position this currently lies in; weâ??ll have more information soon.
