Superlative 3DS submarine game launches 6th May...
Nintendo has announced that sublime submarine-sim Steel Diver will be released for 3DS on May 6th. The company had previously delayed the game's release in Japan following last month's tragic earthquake and tsunami, although the title did manage to join the 3DS' launch line-up in the US on March 27th.
In addition to the obstacle-dodging Mission mode, and classic ‘Battleships’ Steel Commander mini-game, Steel Diver features the brilliant Periscope Strike mode, in which you use the Nintendo 3DS gyro sensor to locate and sink encroaching enemy ships. Holding the 3DS at eye level and spinning around in your chair makes the entire 3D sea horizon move with you - just like looking through a submarine periscope. 2-player download play is also available, so you can battle your friends even if they don’t have their own copy of the game.
