Having discovered JoWooD's comments via the press Perception is on the warpath...

Australian based developers, Perception, today responded to JoWooDâ??s comments regarding the state of development on Stargate SG-1: The Alliance, firmly denying the allegations laid down and warning against its libel nature.

The most significant factor appears to be the fact that Perception is the official licensee of MGM regarding the Stargate SG-1 franchise, throwing some doubt over JoWooDâ??s ability to dump them from development duties.

Perception claims that development on the title will continue regardless of JoWoodâ??s comments, and suggests that itâ??s the Austrian based publisher who has â??openly acknowledged being in breach of contractâ?. Having tried to resolve such issues Perception served JoWood several breach notices, yet nothing had been done by August 5th 2005 and so Perception offered a new date of August 8th 2005 with the threat of terminating its contract with JoWood.

Ben Lenzo, CEO of Perception said, â??We view it as unfortunate that JoWooD would elect to make such misleading and libelous comments to the media and the marketplace. Over the last 9 months, JoWooD has openly acknowledged being in breach of contract in a number of areas including many legal and confidentiality breaches as well as several financial defaults for work performed by Perception and accepted by JoWooD.â?

â??Itâ??s disappointing to hear of this so called termination via the press on the basis of a â??get in firstâ? tactic. This further suggests that JoWooD do not understand the terms of the contract. We are not surprised by their behavior or lack of appreciation for the goodwill Perception has afforded JoWooD on many occasions,â? added Lenzo

Perception has begun personal prosecution proceedings against both Albert Siedl CEO, and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of JoWooD, Andreas Rudas, for libellous comments and seeking monies owed to it and as such will not be issuing any further comments on the situation.
