Ubisoft today announced the development of a GameBoy Advance title based on the Star Wars trilogy.
Currently in development at the talented Ubisoft Montreal Studio and scheduled for release in late September to coincide with the DVD release of the original trilogy, Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force challenges gamers to adventure through the most exciting and memorable scenes from the classic trilogy; taking control of Luke Skywalker as he rises to the ranks of a Jedi Knight.
Luke has access to a wide variety of manoeuvres and force powers such as the Jedi Power Slash, the Force Push and the Jedi Jump; whilst players can make use of R2-D2 to unlock key elements.
Whilst the majority of the game is played as a side-scrolling action title, the game features a diverse range of modes, allowing players to take control of an X-Wing and drive Speeder-Bikes through the forests of Endor.
In addition to the main storyline the game features a variety of co-op and multiplayer modes, including fast-paced dogfights and Capture-The-Flag.
"Star Wars is a great franchise for videogames, being such an exciting, moving and rich universe," said Florence Alibert, marketing director at Ubisoft EMEA. "We are excited to have the 'best of' Star Wars on the Game Boy Advance with Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force. For every movie fan aged 5 to 50, it will be the perfect gift and a 'must-have' for this Christmas season.â
Weâll have more on Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force soon.
