This September Star Wars fans can become Darth Vader's number two with the release of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed...
LucasArts today announced that the European launch of the highly anticipated Star Wars: the Force Unleashed will take place on September 19th 2008.
Casting players as Darth Vader's secret apprentice and promising to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars universe, The Force Unleashed takes place between the popular gap between the trilogies as players attempt Lord Vader's attempts to wipe out the last remaining Jedi.
"Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is one of the most ambitious projects LucasArts has ever launched. The combination of a great new Star Wars story with revolutionary new technology and game play means more fun than you've ever had in the Star Wars universe," said Peter Hirschmann, Vice-President of Product Development, LucasArts. "We can't wait until gamers get their hands on it this September."

Talk about dropping the ball for the Wii...I'm a HUGE SW fan, and have been for a long time now. Ever since SOE messed up Star Wars Galaxies, I've not played any of the games, save for the LEGO ones (which barely count). I was truely hoping for the Wii version to capture the Lightsaber movement, and I'm VERY suprised that they are planning on completely half-assing on this aspect. Boo. Enough said.
